Re-caulk a bathtub or shower
1–2 hours $15–$30 CAD pricing

What you'll need

  • Mildew-resistant 100% silicone caulk
  • Caulk gun, utility knife, painter's tape
  • Rubbing alcohol, paper towels

Steps

  1. Cut and pull out all old caulk.
  2. Clean the joint with rubbing alcohol and let it fully dry.
  3. Tape the tile and tub edges to keep the line crisp.
  4. Lay a steady bead of silicone and smooth with a wet fingertip.
  5. Pull the tape immediately, then wait 24 hours before using the tub.

Tips

  • 100% silicone outlasts cheaper acrylic latex caulk for wet areas.
  • Fill the tub with water before caulking so the joint sits at its widest.
