Tools

  • Stud finder, level, pencil, drill, tape measure
  • Drywall anchors rated for at least 2× your expected load

Steps

  1. Decide the height and use a level to draw a faint pencil line.
  2. Find studs and mark them. Aim to hit at least one stud per bracket.
  3. For holes without a stud, install a proper anchor (toggle bolts for heavy loads).
  4. Mount the bracket, double-check level, then slide the shelf on.

Weight limits

A single drywall anchor holds 10–25 kg depending on type. For books or heavy decor, hit studs.
