Surface prep

Clean the wall with degreaser. Peel-and-stick tile only adheres to smooth, non-textured, fully cured paint.

Tools

  • Tape measure, level, sharp utility knife or scissors, cutting mat
  • Optional: heat gun for tight corners

Steps

  1. Measure your wall area and lay tiles out dry on the floor first.
  2. Start in the most visible corner and work outward.
  3. Peel a small section of backing, align with the level, press firmly.
  4. Cut tiles to fit around outlets — turn power off and remove cover plates.
  5. Reinstall cover plates over the tiles.

Honest expectations

Great for rentals and quick refreshes. Not a substitute for real tile in long-term homes.
